“Had a double of Physics which was awesome, as I really love Physics, and we were looking at projectile motion which is great because it is really simple. We also talked about an excursion to Luna Park, which sounds awesome! In Chemistry we discussed an excursion to Monash Uni which I’m really looking forward to as that is one of the two Unis I’m looking at going to possibly after this year, so that should be great. Had a double English talking about Peter Skyryznecki’s poetry, which isn’t really interesting, but I lived… On the whole, this hasn’t been a bad start to the year, pretty happy with how it’s going. How’s everyone else’s Year 12 started?”

“For the past decade, I’ve had my heart set on surgery and so medicine was the only option I’d ever considered, so it took me by surprise when I really enjoyed economics. I was also inspired by Joseph41’s ‘linguistics degree gap year’ idea, and thought it’d great to study a degree/double degree in another area of interest before committing myself to medicine for 14 or so years.
I just need to find out how to go from said degree to medicine and which prereqs I’ll need… guess its time for more uni open days haha”

“I’ve been doing a lot of things I love, I’ve got two school camps coming up (outdoor ed, fish & turtle conservation). My fish teacher, another student and I are looking at starting a SCUBA club which will be amazing – the reason I don’t dive much is because it is hard to find other people to dive with. I’m also going to apply to Tas Uni’s ‘Introduction to temperate marine bio’ course. It’s a week long thing, specifically for years 11 & 12. They are offering a few scholarships for interstate people, so hopefully I will get in.”

“I was lucky enough to not have any classes on my first day back. I spent my day catching up with friends, doing some study during my frees, and preparing for the day after. I went with a friend to ask our methods teacher about a question we both had trouble with on the holiday homework. It felt great to have him go through it with us, although I felt a little bad for imposing on him. My justification is that we are Year 12s and the main priority, but I’m going to try and stick to our lunchtime consultation groups that the teachers run.”

“Next week is pretty broken up too. Tuesday we have our (and my last ) swimming carnival. Need to find a good costume to wear on the day, I’m going to go out this weekend and try and find something power rangers related but if that doesn’t work out I wanted to ask you for any last minute suggestions for a costume, my house colour is BLUE. Wednesday we get a free day off. This’ll probably be the last of the free days in a long while so I’m going to enjoy it while I can. I also start MUEP Chemistry on Monday so I’m getting nervously excited about that and I can’t wait to jump into it.”
