Discovery Essay Exemplar - Band 6
This is the essay that I took into my HSC exams for Area of Study. I was marked 15/15 for this essay by the two teachers that I asked to mark the essay before I took it into the exam. I also used this for my trial (although adapted to a question) and received full marks. The prescribed text is "Go Back to Where You Came From" and the ORT is "Distant Lands." Even if you don't use these texts, this is a great opportunity to take note on the form and language used in a band 6 response.
