Last year we asked for applications from users interested in becoming a moderator and we received back some excellent applications. Not everyone with mod potential was able to be selected this time, but we have landed on some truly outstanding candidates for our new mods over the past couple months of reading applications, examining post history, and discussing who we really want to have join the team.
Each of our new moderators has shown a history of high-quality posting, enthusiastically engaging in the ATAR Notes community, and supporting others. Such was the quality of applicants that modded more users than we usually would, and this mod announcement will be split into two parts, each one revealing half of the new moderators in each category.
Class of 2020 Year 12 GraduatesVCE Congratulations to new State Moderator: AshmiAREAS: VCE Further, VCE PhysicsAnyone who has been reading Ashmi's journey journal could see how dedicated she is. Ashmi was awarded MotM in June 2020 with high-quality academic posts like this
subject advice. Even before then, Ashmi had posted a guide to
further maths including a bound reference. More recently, this
physics guide including an exam breakdown was also made and shared with the community. Any discussion of Ashmi would be remiss to not include how caring, supportive, and encouraging she is. This has been incredibly clear over a long period of time and if anyone has any doubt about this, looking at her post history - especially in the journey journals - will quickly clear that up.
HSC Congratulations to new State Moderator: CoolmateAREAS: HSC IPT, HSC BiologyTo understand why Coolmate was such a clear choice for mod, we should go back to 2019 where in August Coolmate posted this
study guide and in September was awarded MotM. Coolmate has long been a highly supportive presence on the forums, welcoming new users and sharing motivation with others through quotes and encouragement. Recently, he also posted this
biology advice and this guidance on
handwritten or typed notes. He was also recognised by the community as the HSC MVP of 2020. Coolmate has demonstrated again and again being ready to put in extra effort to help others whether academically or socially.
QCE Congratulations to new State Moderator: s110820AREAS: QCE English, QCE Modern Historys110820, also well known as Darcy, has been one of the most enthusiastic people on the forums, ready to jump in and help whenever possible. In particular, there are many, many examples of s110820 providing English feedback to other students, with these efforts resulting in being awarded MotM in April 2020 . Darcy's uni journey journal focusing on education and social work is extremely fitting for their drive to help others, and especially to help others with their education. In addition to all of s110820's feedback, there have been other fantastic posts such as this
Macbeth help, interstate
character prompt advice, and
detailed career advice. Darcy is quick to reach across state boundaries to engage with others' journeys and always posts from a compassionate perspective and was recognised in the ATAR Notes awards for QCE English by the community in 2020.
