Wait, what did the P.51/The penelopiad prompts have to do with fate?

Not ideal, both fairly limited in terms of incorporating all aspects of the text.
Had expected something on storytelling or fate

:( I wish it had been on storytelling!

I found it weird they made the first one so specific to "Rosalind and Penelope", because then I had to justify bringing the Maids into the discussion. I had wanted to also talk about Helen! I wish it had just been "female determination".

Ehh anyway it's all over now! Hope everyone went well!!

What did everyone think of the Frankenstein and Invictus/Ransom prompts?

Can't comment on Invictus/Ransom but I thought the Frankenstein prompts were fairly decent. Both of them lended themselves to a character based essay more so than a thematic response (like 2018 for example when the prompts explicitly mentioned 'knowledge' and 'injustice')

Any thoughts on Crucible/YOW?
Didn't mention anything about authorial intrusions and epilogues ughhh

on an unrelated note I can't believe there are still 5 more exams left  :-\ is it normal to feel this unprepared... I can't help but ruminate on the English exam even though I know this is counterproductive

Yeh in my opinion, the arrogance topic was pretty broad, i needed to talk about, so you can maneuver it around

i found the crucible/yow prompts kind of difficult ?? maybe it was because i guess i was underprepared, but i thought they were pretty limiting :/ idk that's just me though

--> also adding onto everyone's language analysis discussion
i found the arguments clear, but was i the only one who found very few striking persuasive techniques/argument set up for Hailey's piece? the second one was a bit better bc it was more obvious, but i found the first one slightly more subtle (there were some areas that were quite straightforward, but i found it pretty repetitive :l)

and yes @ the comments on the business, especially as this one is from the UK so they have absolutely no idea what is going on (but still, don't do it to any business)

Hey guys,
You know how you have to shade the boxes of your topic, what happens if you tick them(just what I did).

I forgot to even mark a box last year and nothing happened; they'll figure it out. You'll be fine (:

Completely agree, I went with that prompt and couldn't help but feel restricted. I did manage to incorporate several of the other characters but wasn't easy to justify it and stay on track.

They didn't. I had expected/hoped they would.

Hey, don't worry if you didn't write a conclusion (esp. for Section C, as it isn't an explicit requirement and more of a formality). As long as you had substance and depth in your paragraphs, those will be getting the bulk, if not all, of the marks. Sometimes when ppl do write conclusions, they add  very little value to the essay, and you would rather spend that time improving the scope of your analysis in the actual essay :)

finished all sections but for section c (mainstream English) , didn't analyse the images for some dumb reason and now feel like dying....  :'( :'( :'(  If the essay is good, how will not analysing the images affect the score???  was aiming for an 8/10 for section c  :'(  :'(

I think I screwed up my language analysis a bit. Didn't read that the the writer was Hailey so I just wrote that the store wrote it, and wasn't able to finish my paragraph about the comment. Hopefully my text response was good enough to compensate my language analysis

in my conclusion for the language analysis I only wrote about the closing stages of sam morricones letter but didnt give an overall conclusion about both articles. Will this significantly affect my marks?

Other than the really obvious part they put in for connotations ('breeze' connotes weightlessness and tranquility without 'wads of bills') that most people did, barely anything in the language. It ended up being an 90% argument analysis. what did people say about the pictures? Mine were handshake=personal connection/understanding to customer knowing what they want, card machine= questioning reliability of new tech. Not great tbh. Anyone catch any good ones?
