Why is it pronounced Bae-ah?
Hey Rui! It's just how 'Bea' is pronounced back in the Philippines
I really have no clue why as a country, we've decided to pronounce 'Bea' as 'bae-ya'. At least it gives people an excuse to call me 'bae'
What would you consider the film with the best use of cinematography?
OOHHH there are three films I consider have the BEST cinematography:
- La La Land (2016): they use really beautiful colours in the film and I find them symbolic. Ie; blue being representative of Sebastian's world and pink representing Mia's world and the colour purple; kind of the in between worlds where they've found each other. Kind of like the middle ground where they both are in a loving relationship, but also a place where they've both pursued their dreams. Obviously, you can't have both :/ I really like the compositions used in the film. I really find them aesthetically pleasing.
- The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2008): Beautiful french film with unconventional cinematography, which is refreshing when in comparison to American and British cinema.
- Chungking Express (1995): Symbolic Chinese film filled with a lot of interesting, somewhat very technical cinematic approach to its cinematography.
