How to change user name??

Hey ATAR Notes,

I was just wondering if it is possible to change my user name that is on my posts in the forum? If so how can I do this??

If your issue is related to personal identity (i.e. if your current username is your real name), message me and I can change it for you

National moderators can change names for identity reasons (or temporarily for banter reasons ).

Can we change our name even if it's not identity related and we've just become dissatisfied with it?

Unfortunately, no. This used to be allowed but it was getting very confusing, not to mention time-consuming.

As a rule of thumb, we will not process a name change unless there is a legitimate concern regarding your username choice. This is assessed on a case by case basis. Any person who would like a name change should PM any national moderator or admin.

You must understand that if we did not do this filtering, we would need to grant any and every request for a name change (which in theory creates more work for us). So if there is no legitimate reason for a name change then I highly doubt it will be granted.

It keeps things consistent Sorry.

More than happy to change it if you find a privacy concern or something else you can think of that would warrant a change. PM any national mod or admin if you do.
