hey I was just wondering if I would be penalised for writing past the provided writing lines. I ended up writing on the next page under the part where it said assessment criteria' :/ I've heard from others that you're supposed to grab a new book? Will they stop reading once they reach the last page?

No, they will still read what's on the page :) It is only for the purposes of legibility that they prefer students request a new booklet. So, as long as they could reasonably understand your writing, you will be fine!
