2019 Maths Methods Grade Distributions

Hi guys!

Came across the grade distributions for Maths Methods last year, and noticed that, for Exam 1, there was a bizarrely low number of B+'s given, and an equally strange high number of A's given (see attached). I've never seen this sort of grade distribution for methods (or really any subject with a halfway-decent cohort size) so was wondering what a possible explanation for this could be? Cheers!

It doesn't actually matter what marks equate what letter grade. For students it is all arbitrary why VCAA chooses what constitutes an A+ or A or B+ etc. It would actually impact your mark. For last year the B+ range was quite small so only a small number of students got allocated a B+ grade.
