Very few people can use podcasts and still retain information… I’d discourage using these if you tend to require visual information to enforce what you’re being told, or if you are easily distracted.

For me, VCE podcasts is like listening to a lullaby. I’m easily distracted, and start daydreaming about unrelated things, and don’t retain any of what’s being articulated.

Yeah, when I use Lectopia (audio lecture thing for university), I need to make sure I am looking at relevant study material (the lecture slides), or else I cannot learn.

Podcasts are a complete waste of time. I had some for history last year and it was impossible to absorb the information sufficiently. Nothing beats simply reading the material. It may be boring or more time consuming, but your retention is guaranteed to be effective.

Yeah i agree, i guess it's because you're focusing more by reading it

I find if I'm taking notes and am relatively interested in the topic, I can absorb a lot just listening to people speak. I think I get more out of reading though, unless the speaker is really good.

i found that listening to the aos on the podcrammers was a really good way to just get an understanding of what the aos was about and then build from there in class with the text book and my own notes and then i listened to  them for revision as well.
