Anyways, here's a rundown of everything happening right now
Summer Holidays + Extra Life things:Honestly I had such an amazing summer holidays. It was so nice to have a break from everything associated with school. I went to the cricket BBL for the first time and actually understood the game by the end of it - lowkey proud of myself cause all I knew about cricket is that you hit the ball and ran back and forth. I also got my L's over the holidays. I've officially done an hour of driving so far and let's just say I'm pretty terrible. I continued training over the holidays and did a 4 day training camp at my club, and although I was very sore, I really loved it.
I've also managed to stay organised with majority of my subjects and balancing them so far, which is a goal of mine for this year. I've also been reading more lately. Current read: The invisible life of Addie Larue. I've only just started and I love it so much already. For any readers here on atar notes, I definitely recommend it.
School:It's been 4 (now 10 as I go back and finally finish this) days of school and I feel like I'm swimming in homework. The shift between workload between year 10 and 11 has massively increased. I've also decided to make the most of my opportunities and go for both class captain and house representative. I ended up getting vice captain, which I'm super stoked about. We haven't voted or heard anything on house reps yet though. Swimming carnival is also coming up soon, so hopefully it doesn't get cancelled even if I can't swim to save my life (ok I can swim, but I'm just really slow).
BIOLOGY 3/4:Biology has definitely become my favourite subject this year. I really enjoy the content and find it interesting, so I'm really motivated to do all the work for it. I don't have a SAC until about week 8, so I want to be really prepared for it. From what I know so far, it is based on 2/3 pracs that we do leading up to it. Fingers crossed it goes okay
We also had a plasma membrane mini-test last week and I got 93%. I ended up changing my answer for one of the questions, and my first answer was right oops. My teacher seems really good so far, and apparently she wrote the study design, which is always a good sign. We've gone over the content so much and I've barely had to revise as it's just implemented into my brain now.
SPEC MATHS 1/2:Spec Maths is another of my favourite subjects. My class is so good (only 8 of us) and my teacher makes the class really enjoyable. I have a test in a few days on the first few chapters. I did chapter reviews today and I'm going to go over partial fractions and do the practice tests tomorrow. Our test has to be done during online learning, but I feel pretty good about the content right now, so I'm not too stressed
CHEMISTRY 1/2:Chemistry is a lot to remember, which I was definitely warned about. I don't really understand some stuff in class, so I always have to go back over it after school. It just doesn't stick in my brain if the info is read out by the teacher. I'm going to go over chem stuff tomorrow for our practice test coming up soon though. I really want to do well in chem and stay up to date with the amount of content
P.E: 1/2:I know I've said this like 50 times, but another one of my fav subjects. My teacher is great and pushes everyone in the class. He constantly tests you throughout classes, which definitely helps. I have my first SAC in a week, so I'll just continue revising and do practice questions. I must say it is really fun to tell random people the bones and muscles in the body
ENGLISH 1/2:Sorta meh about english as it's never been my favourite subject, but my teacher is really nice and enthusiastic about everything. I have a creative coming up in a few weeks, so just trying to come up with ideas for it.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE 1/2:Honestly what even is english language at the moment. My teacher seems a bit all over the place ngl. I could barely tell you anything we've done in class over the past 2 weeks. I'm a bit behind on my metalanguage definitions and need still to memorise them. I sort of regret doing the subject as it isn't as interesting as I thought. Maybe that'll change once metalanguage is out the way though. I was first drawn to the subject by the way languages came about and were formed, but I don't think that is until the 2nd semester. I may potentially end up dropping this to pick up methods 1/2 after semester 1 if it fits my timetable, just to be prepared for unit 3/4. But I want to stay positive... it's only been 2 weeks, so being negative isn't the answer.
Anyways, that's all from me
