Methods and Chemistry VCE Tutoring for 2016 :D 99.95 Atar

Hello everybody, I'm Christian, and I will be offering both individual and group tutoring for Mathematical Methods CAS (Units 3-4) and Chemistry (Units 3-4). I graduated in 2015 rurally, as the dux of Hamilton College with an ATAR of 99.95, achieving raw Study Scores of 47 in Maths Methods and 48 in Chemistry.

I aim to provide you with not only the skills and knowledge to achieve an amazing study score, but also to encourage and inspire you to cherish and enjoy the wonders of Maths and Science. Similarly, as a student fresh out of the curriculum, I am here to help you understand the subtleties of each subject on a conceptual level, and expose you to VCAA’s many devious tricks and traps. By focusing on the actual understanding of each subject, you will be provided with the opportunity to maximise your potential results, regardless on whether you are seeking to take flight into 45+ territory or simply satisfy your uni prerequisite requirement/s.

Additionally, I have been exposed to tutoring, having received it for English and Specialist Math in 2015. Through this I have learnt techniques to clearly and concisely communicate difficult and often overwhelming concepts that may prove difficult to understand with just the help of a class teacher or via self-learning the textbook. The ability to communicate and lead has been further developed in my role as House Captain. I have also witnessed teaching where teachers merely provide formulas to solve the basic questions in the text book; those who support a ROTE learning-style method to subjects that require genuine understanding, often limiting students from maximising their potential.

I have a passion to teach, and a desire for you to do well. I am willing to provide assistance outside of class through email, and make sure you understand everything you need to.

Note: For students taking tutoring with me for Methods and Chemistry, I am also more than willing to offer assistance with Specialist [39] and English [50], so while the lessons will focus on the subjects I’m teaching, I’m more than happy to spend a lesson or two helping you out with planning an essay, or answering a Specialist Math question. However there is a chance for English that I have not covered your book/context (this doesn’t mean there aren’t things I can help with though!).

Price:   30$ per hour for individual tutoring
25$pp per hour as a group
For both individual and group tutoring I offer the first lesson free, to help you decide if my tutoring is best for you.

Location: Monash-Clayton campus library + neighbouring suburbs.

Relevant Credentials:
Year 10 (2013): Recipient of Kwong Lee Dow Scholarship, Dux of Units 1-2 for VCE Chinese (SL), recipient of Ray Peck Prize (school prize) for potential in mathematics.
Year 11 (2014): Dux of Year 11, Dux (subject prize) of Units 1-2 for Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, English, and Specialist Math. Dux (subject prize) of Units 3-4 for Chinese (SL) and Further Mathematics.
Year 12 (2015): Dux of school, Dux (subject prize) of Units 3-4 for Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, English, and Specialist Math. House Captain + Prefect.

Thanks heaps! Lovely joke as well :P - we need your kind of original creative thinking on the forums. Perhaps while I tutor, I could hire you to sit next to me and liven the atmosphere with your comedy? :D
