goodbye monash
hello melbourne please accept me
You wouldn't believe how similar your response is to mine. Exact words, no joke.
I'm desperate now. Are there cases where a good ATAR and a not so good UMAT can still get you into Monash Med?
Just wanted to say please don't take monash med off your VTAC preferences unless you are sure you have no chance of getting an interview. In the past people with UMATs in the 60s (with at least 50 in each section) have been offered interviews due to their high ATARs.
In the current year 1 cohort at monash med, UMAT scores range from mid 60s to 100, whilst ATAR is 97+ (not including students from rural schools). Unfortunately I can't give you an exact number to aim for but: (this is in terms of Monash med)
- okay UMAT + good ATAR + good interview = probably get into med
- good UMAT + okay ATAR + good interview = probably get into med
- good UMAT + good ATAR + very terrible interview = maybe won't get into med
- good everything = get into med (duh)
hope that helps - feel free to PM if you have any other qs
