Join us at Western Sydney University’s Open Day: Sunday 27 August, 2017.

These days, you don’t want to travel for hour upon hour to access a high level of education.

That’s why Western Sydney University offers technology degrees at our Campbelltown, Sydney City, Penrith and Parramatta campuses.

So, no matter where you’re placed geographically, our degrees will always be convenient to you.

But why study technology in the first place?

THE BENEFITS OF STUDYING TECHNOLOGY

The world is a changing place – and it will continue to change for decades in the future.

Studying technology at WSU gives you the adaptable skills required to thrive in an ever-expanding industry.

On completion of your degree, you will be able to investigateintegrate and innovate in a way that makes you stand out from the crowd. These are skills that, ultimately, are most employable.

Many technology degrees at WSU are accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). This accreditation means that, following graduation, you can join the society at full professional level. It also makes clear paths for potential employment in the future, setting you up for life beyond university.

Two of our most popular degrees are the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology, and the Bachelor of Data Science, which we’ll profile in a moment. Other technology degrees include:

•     Bachelor of Computer Science
•     Information Systems degrees
•     Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (Games Design and Simulation)

BACHELOR OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY

If you’re interested in any of the following, then this will be a great degree for you:

•     Application development
•     Program design
•     Systems analysis and design
•     Networks
•     Web design
•     The implementation of technology

It’s a three-year degree, specifically designed so that you can develop skills and knowledge in the ICT realm.

The best thing is that the degree includes direct industry experience, which is so important for career prospects down the line.

Specifically, students have access to 20 days of work/industry placement.

BACHELOR OF DATA SCIENCE

We’re really bullish about our Bachelor of Data Science.

It’s a unique, one-of-a-kind degree; it can be completed concurrently with any other Bachelor’s degree.

The degree consists of eight units of study – and many of these were developed specifically for the program.

Throughout the degree, you will have access to industry-leading facilities. MakerSpace, for example, allows you to bring your ideas to life. It includes a 3D printing hub, Fab Lab (including the Western Sydney Solar Car Project), and interactive programming and virtual reality capacities.

It’s all very exciting – so make sure you check it out at our Open Day!

Remember: these degrees are essentially delivered from your doorstep. With flexibility in location arrangements, you will complete your degree in complete comfort.

We can’t wait to have you at WSU!
