I decided to post some questions here which my Dad set for me to check my knowledge and stuff

Hope you get some use out of them.

$\textbf{Question 1:}\mbox{ Jill has a mass of 80\; kg and is standing in a lift.}$

$\textbf{a)}\mbox{ The lift accelerates at 3\; ms^{-2} downwards for 3 seconds. What is the \textbf{Normal Reaction} force on Jill by the floor?}$

$\textbf{b)}\mbox{ After 10 seconds at constant velocity, the lift then decelerates at 2\; ms^{-2}. What is the \textbf{Normal Reaction} force on Jill by the floor?}$

$\textbf{c)}\mbox{ How long will it take for the lift to decelerate to rest?}$

$\textbf{d)}\mbox{ What is the height of the total fall?}$

$\textbf{Question 2:}\mbox{ A 1\; kg object is twirled around a vertical circle of radius 1 metre (as shown below)}$

$\textbf{a)}\mbox{ Assuming that the object is moving at a constant speed, what is the minimum speed required to maintain circular motion?}$

$\textbf{b)}\mbox{ What is the tension in the string at the bottom of the circle?}$

$\mbox{The string breaks when the object is at position P.}$

$\textbf{c)}\mbox{ How far above the ground does the object fly?}$

$\textbf{d)}\mbox{ How long does the object take to hit the ground after breaking off at position P?}$

$\textbf{Question 3:}\mbox{ A bullet of mass 0.05\; kg hits a block of mass 5.00\; kg causing it to momentarily come to a rest (as shown below)}$

$\textbf{a)}\mbox{ What was the velocity of the bullet before it impacted upon the block?}$

$\textbf{b)}\mbox{ How much energy was lost in deforming the bullet and the block?}$

$\textbf{Question 4:}\mbox{ Using the information that g_{earth} = 10\; ms^{-2}:}$

$\textbf{a)}\mbox{ Find g at the surface of a planet which has 10 times the mass of Earth and twice the radius of Earth.}$

$\textbf{Question 5:}\mbox{ Calculate the mass of the Sun given that the period of rotation of the Earth is 1 year}$
$\mbox{and that light takes around 8 minutes and 18 seconds to travel from the Sun to the Earth.}$

$\textbf{Question 6:}\mbox{ Given the following Transistor Amplifier and the fact that V_{b} = 2V and V_{be} = 0.7V, find the following:}$

$\textbf{a)}\mbox{ We require V_{out} to be 6V, what value should I_{c} have to achieve this voltage.}$

$\textbf{b)}\mbox{ If the base current is 0.04\; mA, what is the \textbf{precise} value of R_{e}}$

$\textbf{c)}\mbox{ If A_{v} = 50, what is the maximum input voltage (p-p) which will not result in clipping at the output?}$

PM me for answers, as I cannot figure out a way to put them hidden in things (like they are on AOPS)

For Q6a, it would be wrong to say 4 mA for the answer.

For Q6a, it would be wrong to say 4 mA for the answer.
