Heya everyone,
I intend on studying medicine after Year 12 and I am currently considering course selection. I have decided on:
- English Language
- Math Methods
- Chem
- Bio
- Algorithmics (HESS)
But for my 6th subject, I am trying to decide between Physics and Computing: Software Engineering. I would say that I have a bit more strength in the realm of programming but I want to have as competitive of an application as I can.
Thanks
Your subject line up is neat and will prep you really well for medicine. For your 6th subject, it ultimately depends on what you would prefer to choose, you should also take into consideration your strengths and weaknesses, because medicine is REALLY competitive so you should choose a subject you enjoy and therefore have a greater chance of doing well in. Not doing physics won't put you at any disadvantage as you already cover the prerequisites for med.
Edit: Some people also literally just do chem in high school and still make it into med (they have to do a bridging biology course at uni though) so don't fret too much over your 6th subject, choose something you enjoy!
