Hey there,
I think the solutions to question 1eii, Exam 2 Core is incorrect.
It should be 2.5% times 100, not 16%

Q21 (Financial) : Why can't the answer be 'E'
Q7 (Graphs and relations) : Why can't answer be 'B'
Thanks.

A pair of crocs was purchases for $25. After 3 years the crocs have a value of$3. On average, the
owner of the crocs wore them for 350 days per year during those 3 years. The depreciation in the value
of the crocs, per day walked in, is closest to
A. 2 cents
B. 3 cents
C. 4 cents
D. 5 cents
E. 6 cent

FOR QUESTION 21:

DEPRECIATION = Principal - Scrap value/ units of use
hence 25-3/350 which gives 6 cents the depreciation per days walked in over 3 YEARS. The question specifically asks for depreciation per days walked in, hence we divide 0.06 by 3 to get the value for each year.

I got E as an answer to until later realizing what the questions was asking for

i'm sorry I cant help with the graphs and relations question, as I doing the geo module

Hi all, for exam 1, module 2 (networks) question 2 is which of the following is true about planar graphs?

The correct answer is a. A planar graph has no edges which overlap.

Personally I chose E. None of the above.

I understand that a planar graph can be drawn so that no edges overlap, however lots of the time a planar graph is drawn with edges overlapping.

I think the wording of this question is wrong.
It should be a. A planar graph CAN be drawn with no edges overlapping.

I really hope I don't get a question like this on the exam because I thought they were trying to trick me and I thought I was outsmarting them but it was just the obvious answer. This was the only question I got wrong and I was wondering if anyone else thought the same as me??

I think the answers for exam 2, matrix module Question 1b is incorrect. BA does exist and the order is 3*3, right?

It can't be 'B' because the x-axis is 'x^2' which means the equations for it would be y=(12/2)x^2.

Hi, does anyone know how to do question 7, exam 2, financial section. In the question it says '10%' rate but in the answers the rate put in the finance solver is '4.5'.
Also, how would you normally determine the initial investment for a question such as this? Like would it be 0 or 500 or something else? How did the answer get 15000 as initial?
Thank you.

Yo for q13 on exam 1 for a time series to be described as seasonal, shouldn't be the movements be regular - as in the time between peaks should be consistent
Therefore would the best option be C?

I agree there is no regular movement because it increases by 4 the first time then 3 then 1. So I'm pretty sure it should be C.

Question 20 Exam 1 Financial
The graph is completely incorrect as you can see in the following link, they've provided a graph for reducing balance depreciation, not a reducing balance loan. This link is from Vic Maths Weebly, and a very useful resource to keep in your bound reference if you ask me.

Please, do correct me if I'm wrong

Another mistake on Question 16 Exam 1:
It should be C, not D.

Another mistake on Question 16 Exam 1:
It should be C, not D.

The seasonal index of 1.19 indicates that the sales for quarter 1 are 19% above the quarterly average, therefore to correct for seasonality we have to decrease the actual sales - so I think the answer is actually D
