##### SACs for Methods? Help me

Hey guys. I'm very worried. Our teacher's not the best so I'm learning everything myself. But I'm not sure what our SACs will be like. Though I am covering all the topics from edrolo and the study design, I don't know what specific topics I need for the upcoming SAC (Limits? Chain rule? Do I have to do all of Calculus?).

Can you guys tell me what yall are covering for the SACs? And how many SACs is everyone going to do this year for Methods?

We have our first methods SAC in week 3 this term and it will be on chapters 1-10 excluding chapter 7, from the Cambridge textbook. It's going to be a five period SAC. I think we have 3 the whole year.
2018: Biology
2019: Chemistry, Physics, Math Methods, English, Japanese
2020: Bachelor of Psychology (Monash)

SAC 1 for Methods is a functions and calculus-based application task.

What topics are included in your SAC is generally up to your teacher, but has to contain content from the first three areas of study:
> Functions and relations
> Algebra
> Calculus

Most schools do Chapters 1-12 of the Cambridge Textbook for SAC 1. That is, everything related to:
> number, set and function theory (domains, ranges, inverse functions, composite functions, etc)
> coordinate geometry and geometry in the plane (linear systems, distances, etc.)
> Transformations (dilations, reflections, translations)
> Polynomials and power functions (sketching graphs, factorising polynomials, etc.)
> Logs and exponentials (sketching graphs, solving equations)
> Circular functions (sketching graphs [sin, cos, tan], solving equations)
> Differentiation and its applications (differentiation of the above mentioned functions, chain rule, product rule, quotient rule, stationary points, tangents to curves, optimisation problems, etc.)
> Integration and its applications (antidifferentiation of most of above mentioned functions, finding areas of the plane, etc.)

Some schools only do Chapters 1-10. It is best you check with your teacher what exactly will be assessed on your SAC.

I've compiled a list of past exam questions that I believe are good practice for SAC 1:  https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=185260.msg1112961#msg1112961

Best of luck with your first Methods SAC. If you're having any trouble with questions, be sure to post in the Methods Questions Thread.
