Winter solstice in Belgrave.  Was a lot of fun: Inventive lanterns, fire dancing, circus acts, telescopes tuned to Jupiter and Saturn.  But cold (4 degrees and misty as I walked back home).

They looked pretty mundane - not to be compared with the Pikachu cupcakes made by a colleague. They tasted OK, though: Sticky date with caramel icing (basically, caramel sauce with added icing sugar...) [RECIPE]
