Elaborate? What do you mean "hacked"?
As in, data breach hacked.

Quote
We believe there was unauthorised access to significant amounts of personal staff, student and visitor data extending back 19 years.

Depending on the information you have provided to the University, this may include names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, personal email addresses and emergency contact details, tax file numbers, payroll information, bank account details, and passport details. Student academic records were also accessed.

Apparently they got hacked earlier last year as well, and supposedly upgraded their security, which is supposedly the only reason they detected it this time (...months after the fact). But ya know, why bother upgrading their security enough to prevent hacking I guess??

And now they're basically just telling us to change our passwords and move on ::) Nevermind that identity theft would be ridiculously easy with the stolen information.

Heaps of people on shmidtposting are blaming china lol

Edit: Apparently this is important news - got a messenger notification about it from the ABC lol.

im pissed and i wanna rant

so basically my mum drove me to the station this morning and at the traffic lights, we went past some dude. i didnt think much of it at the time. then when i got out of the car and my mum drove away, he came up to me and told me how bad of a driver my mum was and how he almost got ran over even though the pedestrian crossing was red and the traffic lights were green, not to mention he was on the sidewalk. literally, unless my mum rammed the car onto the sidewalk, he would be fine.

idk. just a bad start to my day.

I'm dying over methods. I have a four day math SAC (SOS!!!) coming up and I feel so unprepared. Furthermore, we haven't had a methods teacher for like two months because our last teacher (she was shockingly bad that I don't even think she should be called a teacher cos she didn't teach! Just confuse us, so I guess she should be called a Confuser...  :-\) just upped and left. Literally didn't even say good bye! Now we're going to be transferred to VVLA (or something like that ) which everyone says is really good but I'm still worried. I'm always worried.

ALSO Does it not annoy anybody else that exams are always around Halloween? I adore Halloween and I feel like it totally sucks that students don't really get to enjoy it. Please, somebody tell me that uni stdents don't have exams then.  ???

Depends on which uni you go to and what year it is. Usually the exam period begins in early November, but, like Easter, it does move a little each year, so Halloween sometimes falls on the first or second week of exams. (This tends to be places that have ten week trimesters like Deakin, rather than places with 12 week semesters like Monash or Melbourne; they usually have SWOTVAC/ StuVac that week.)

I remember one year some students wore Halloween costumes to their exam since the exam was on the same day as Halloween, no joke.
Mundane life update: I found my old winter gloves last week and they still fit. Going to work in the frigid cold morning weather is now much more bearable.

I had an exam on Halloween a couple of years ago, but like AW has said, depends on the year :)

Mum made soup for dinner tonight and it was so good. 😍

I've tried to unsubscribe from Mumbrella on many occasions. Why do I still receive emails?

Have you considered removing your door? People can't knock what isn't there.

My bus was running late today so I walked across the road to catch a different bus going to the same place. The original bus came and left before the one I was on left. This mildly annoyed me.
