I finished Catcher Telling Crow fairly recently. It was a really wonderful book, harrowing but incredible. And an interesting premise.
the cage is shattered
the songbird sings
of her freedom once more

soars in blue
basks in the light
leaving nothing
but notes behind

she is never going
back in that cage

I have an illustrated version of The Hobbit I am reading to my nephew. He's (almost) two, and he can speak basic words, but he doesn't quite understand the book. However he enjoys the pictures, likes the voices I put on, and will try to say new words as I read them.

this one as there's a few versions

Although of a different version, I remeber being read an illustrated version of the hobbit when I was a wee lad. I don't really recall the story as such (I do know the story as I have read it since), but I do remember looking at the pictures.
This is the copy - I remember the big scary smaug

At the moment I have just recently picked up all the wrong questions by lemony snicket book 1 (again). I have read it a few times, but I was just looking for something easy to read haha. I did try to read some stephen king (the green mile) but was sold by his writing. Perhaps I will try again for another of his novels.

I'm reading The Girl Who Fell atm. Regrets. Had it recommended to me, but the writing is awful. I like the idea of the plot though.

If you're looking for a cute contemporary that is primarily set in Sydney (and revolves around music and the Con)- I recommend The Astrid Notes by Taryn Bashford! I'm 220 pages in (so nearly done with it) and it's v cute and the cover have those purple jacaranda trees which I find beautiful :D

Just finished Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. A friend recommended it to me and I finished it in a day, itís that good. Quite confronting on the loneliness topic.

I too liked Eleanor Oliphant, I read it earlier this year. It is definitely confronting on the topic of loneliness! :)
