Did you finish your interview, Turtle

How long was the interview?
In your perspective, how hard was the puzzle?

Hahah I’m desperate

I did finish it. The whole thing took about an hour for me, but the individual interview was shorter than I expected, maybe about 10 minutes? In fact, I would urge you not to worry too much - once I was in the interview, I relaxed because it was a fun experience, I made new friends and got to talk with people from other schools. Trust me, I didn't feel nervous once I was in my group and completing activites.

The math problem I got was honestly super easy. Just make sure you show all working out, and try to think of a more efficient/elegant way to solve it, as opposed to brute forcing your way to an answer. :)

I have a link below to an amazing science textbook. All i did was read through the topics in the book and it helped a lot. If you don't understand any of the topics just search it up on google or youtube although the book is really thorough. Practice writing: science experiment structure, speed, scientific vocab etc. Try do some ICAS science papers if you can get your hands on them.https://www.angusrobertson.com.au/books/excel-year-10-science-revision-workbook-donna-bennett/p/9781740200813?gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83lCrMm6eY5W-Qk2e98BbRFWN72MJxNqx4Pk6C7jB836oIzvSxdCOgYaAu8wEALw_wcB .  For Maths, i recommend STUDYING ALL of year 9 curriculum and some of the year 10 curriculum. Make sure you work on speed and also, do the easiest questions first and come back to the hardest ones. You shouldn't have trouble with the exam if you follow the above tips. Also, prepare for the interview in advance because the more practice the better!

hmm, the test for jmss this year was way easier than the selective school exam... basically, you don't need to overly prepare if you're a little over your school's average. i did the science icas test and it was the exact same as the science reasoning we got in the jmss test so try to sign up for it next year.

like the person above had said, just read over the year 9 maths textbook (if you're not familiar with the concepts) and a bit of the year 10 book if you can. there were pretty basic trig, surds, basic algebra, linear graphs and some quadratics in the test this year if i recall.

you can't really prepare for the essay writing (if you didn't know, the question usually revolves around problems in the world) unless you knew everything, but if you really wanted to, you could read the news and science reports. you could also go through the year 9 science textbook for the prac discussion but in my case, i winged it oops and it ended up being really short.

good luck for next year! if it means anything, i didn't prepare a lot except for the maths (most of my preparation was for the selective school exam in the year before) and i'm not what you would call smart and yet i still got into the interviews.
i will sell my soul to get into jmss 😤 jk but actually—
