I have a question to do with Nursing at Monah Uni, I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but anyway. (Nursing being M2006)

Can someone tell me when they start actual clinical placements at Monash? Thanks.
VCE 2018-2020
2019: HHD 3/4 (31->?), dropped Chem before 2020
2020: Maths Methods 3/4, English 3/4, Texts and Traditions 3/4, Revolutions (France/Russia) 3/4
(VERY optimistic) Aims for VCE
90+ ATAR
42+ Texts [not realistic]
43+ English [definitely not realistic, maybe 40+ if I'm lucky]
36+ Methods [wish for 40+, but definitely not happening]
32+ Revs
Aims for life
Bachelor of Nursing probably at Monash.

Does anyone know if there is a hard limit on the number of majors and minors you can take in the Bachelor of Arts. I think I read somewhere a while ago that you can take a maximum of 2 majors, but I couldnít see/donít remember any limit for minors. Is this right? I specifically want to know if I am able to take 2 majors and 2 minors, and if I am able to take 1 major and 3 minors. WES does let me add both of those combinations, but Iím not sure if it would stop me from adding too many areas of study in the first place. Thanks!

As far as I know, you're permitted to do both scenarios! I did 1 extended major and 2 minors - different to your scenarios, but as long as you satisfy the requirements for each major/minor you list on WES, they'll all be checked and approved when you graduate. The BA at a minimum needs either 1 major and 1 minor OR 2 majors (all listed under Arts approved areas of study).

It actually might be possible to do 3 majors depending on how someone sets up their course map? I think the degree can only list 2 majors on it though. Minors will not appear on your degree but will appear on your transcripts.

I would still recommend contacting Monash for official confirmation. I suggest using the live chat to save time waiting on the phone.

Thank you! Iíll ask them soon.

They did take a few days to reply (I didnít use live because it wasnít available when I checked), but the answer was as expected. The person who replied said that both of my scenarios were allowed, which were 2 majors and 2 minors, and 1 major and 3 minors. They additionally said that a double major doesnít require a minor, and the bare minimum is one major and one minor.

Thank you!

Hey guys! I was a bit confused about choosing electives. So as I understand you can choose 2 electives throughout your undergrad which are the same year level as you are studying (i.e. choosing MTH 1020 and 1030 in a year 2). Could someone confirm this :). Does anyone have suggestions for enjoyable electives for this semester for a first year biomed student?

do you mean not the same year level as study? anyway simply put for Biomed you can do a max of 10 year 1 subjects.

CHM1011 is a super popular first year subject for biomed

Yes, I meant same year level as study. I remember reading that we were restricted on electives on the forums somewhere but nevermind. So Biomed students can do all year 1 elective in years 2 and 3 if they don't do a double degree? Thanks

I don't think so. By max 10 year 1 units I include the core biomed units.

From the uni website: https://handbook.monash.edu/2020/courses/M2003
- "Electives may be from any level, however, no more than four electives (24 credit points) are to be completed from level 1" so consistent with the idea that you can do max 10 year 1 units (given everyone dose 6 core year 1 units).
- beyond that I believe you can do any non level 1 units.

Just wondering whether a 71 WAM is good enough to be considered for a transfer into Comp Sci/Commerce or should I not include this semester and try to get a higher WAM next semester?
