Do you think artistic expression is a good way to let off steam?

Heck yeah - I'm in for this!
Nah, I'm good.
I'd love to, but I have no time. :,(

Also, it’s the 30th! That means change of topic as of 12:01 tomorrow morning, all the way until October 14th! So, the new theme is:
Spoiler
The Beach :D

Have fun, y’all. 😘

I edited a thing during editing class this week at uni and it (kinda) correlates with the new topic! (they're waves- does that count?)
Which will hold greater rule over you? Your fear or your curiosity?

Please note that I am no longer active on the forums.
If you need any assistance, please message an admin or a natmod instead.

Sorry guys, been RIDICULOUSLY BUSY lately, so I didn’t draw anything. Went for a stroll around Melbourne Central today, and snapped a picture of the shot tower smack bang in the middle of the station. For background, I’ve always loved shot towers. You guys need to do some quick wiki read ups on these things. Calebark thought I was kidding when I told him what they’re for! 😉
also guys I saw a kitty look at herrrrr

Pelican coming. Watch this space! :D

At some stage I will have to upload the macaw that I'm almost done, too.

I thought I would give this theme a shot. It has been so long since I've written creatively.

There is a girl standing at the edge of where the sand meets the water. Waves. Big waves hurling churning out the contents of the ocean. A gentle breeze blowing softly. As the last of the suns remains disappear from the night sky as it transcends into pitch darkness. She lights up a silver lighter as she watches the flames flicker before going out. She breathes in and recalls the year of never-ending events that lead her here. It hadn’t been a good year for her. Yet she was still standing here. Barely alive but breathing.  She had fallen down more times she could remember yet she somehow made it alive.  She had survived the oceans rage yet spat out shrivelled, one  friend less and deathly afraid of what stood before. The waters her trusted friend now her foe. Maybe one day her foot would be able to dip into the waters. Maybe one day she would be able to swim in the water. For now, she remains on the edge.

The Beach :D
My grandma recently gifted me this colouring-in maze and labyrinth set, and I saw a sun maze, so I coloured it in ^-^
The sun doesn't just remind me of the beach, but also represents to me certain people and how they can be a literal ray of sunshine when I'm all grey and gloomy. :)

I am L-O-V-I-N-G the entries for this topic so far! Thanks for participating, everyone!

I allocated exactly an hour for a work last night to do with my topic, and I ended up with a work I'll call 'The Fisherman':
Spoiler

It's not exactly your classic Aussie 'Bondi Beach' scene, but it's a beach scene nevertheless. :)

I hope everyone's had a great couple of weeks! This topic closes at midnight tonight, so if you've done something beach-themed this past fortnight, put it up for us to enjoy! :D

For the next topic, I'm actually going to leave it up to you guys - exams for but VCE and HSC are looming right now, so I've decided to postpone the next topic for exactly a month (I'm being selfish - my last exam is on November 14th nyehehe) and in that time, anyone who wants to participate can skim through some of the old topics and pick whatever they want to do. Rest easy, study hard, and, most of all, believe in yourselves! <3

Pre-midnight late submission here!

The pelican is finally complete, and I'd have to say I'm really happy with how it turned out. I've just been doing a lot of experimentation recently, and the macaw and now the pelican show the new style that appears to work better than the old one! :D yay

Pelican, complete

Way late for the architecture theme, but here are some random mindless doodles from the other month when I was just trying to sketch without thinking about too much (really didn't know where I was going with the first one lol).

The perspective on the first one is absolutely whack, but I guess that's what happen when I try to wing two-point perspective lol.

True, but I think it looks slightly curved and abstract, I really love it! I would love to be able to "wing" something as good as that!

Hello AN'ers, a VERY late submission haha but I've decided to jump on board this arts thread even though I can barely hold a pencil correctly ;D Anyway you guys are all SO freaking talented and the artworks on here absolutely blows my mind!!

Not a drawing but it's a photo that fits the beach theme. Not exactly sure if it counts as my work as the photo's taken by a friend, but I'm the guy in the photo so...
