hi guys
i was wondering if anyone could outline the substantial differences between Victorian legal aid and community legal centres for me

Victorian Legal Aid is a government agency that provides legal advice/representation/information/duty lawyers to the public. It focuses on giving these to people who can't afford a lawyer themselves or have other challenges (can't speak English well etc). Some of its services depend on a person meeting an income test (testing if the applicant has enough money). VLA relies on government funding to operate.

Community Legal Centres are independent organisations which provide similar legal services as VLA. Each CLC will have different criteria to determine who they can help and in what order. They get their money from both government grants as well as private donors. Some deal with only certain types of criminal cases while others are more general
