Quick Clarification!!

Hi,
Just wondering whether an increase/decrease/change in current induces change in magnetic flux OR change in magnetic flux induces current?
Also, should I bother doing itute exams? Are they relevant?

Thanks xx

Flux = B (magnetic field strength) x A(area)
B is dependent on several factors including current, distance (eg. length of wire), number of turns.
So changing the current will change the flux.

Also if you change flux by moving a coil in/out of a magnetic field then a current will be induced to oppose this change.

I believe that properly, a change in magnetic flux induces an emf. That emf can, in turn, induce a current. Loosely speaking, however, people refer to it as an induced current. Better safe to say that the induced current is due to an induced emf per Faraday’s law.

Thank you!! Also, do you have any tips for the physics exams considering you got such a good score last year!! hehe  xx

Also, do you have any tips for the physics exams.

Make sure to complete all VCAA Physics exams from at least 2017, including NHT papers. Read through the examiners’ reports and take note of the parts that students answer poorly. Understand the question and answer it exactly - don’t just parrot stuff from the cheatsheet.

Most importantly: look after yourself physically and mentally, and good luck!

Thanks so much! Also, just wondering, did you ever do itute papers? If you did, are they worth it? Thanks! :))

I have a vague impression I looked at them but thought they were a bit clunky or weren't too relevant to the study design, but I can't recall for sure. I would certainly prioritise doing VCAA papers: if you have completed all the new study design questions, then go backwards from 2017 and pick the relevant questions.
