Title: "Our world may be a giant hologram"
Post by: /0 on February 09, 2010, 01:37:54 am
A really interesting article on the possibility that our universe is a hologram
(take note that it is just an idea at the moment, and not a really a theory yet)

I wouldn't call Newscientist the most reputable science journal in the world :P I find its usually filled with 'popular' science and not much use to the serious scientist just for those who are interested in science.

However I have heard this hologram idea before but I'm not convinced... maybe I just don't understand the physics.

Lol, pop-science! But yeah these journals won't really be 'serious'. Still I love reading them as some are really fun to read about.

Lol.

I haven't heard about it nor do I even come near understanding the physics. Modern physics has a lot of weird stuff that I can't get my head around and then I feel like a laymen. I remember in year 9 before I did physics as a school subject, I would go on wikapedia to search up things and go on tangents. I have always wanted to possess this knowledge and so I now study physics.

This is more philosophy than physics, but what difference would it make?

Is that adressed at me? :S

According to 'The Elegant Universe, by Brian Greene' there is a huge difference. Such as the battle as to whether string theory is science or just a philosophy and if you can't prove it is true then nobody should believe it.
