I am really interested in the medical field, and it has been my life time goal for a while.
I will be enrolling in to Bachelor of Science in Unimelb this year (2018), and I am not familiar with choosing subjects.
As somebody who didn't do VCE chemistry, what subjects would I need to take?
I am aware that the pre requisite for the graduate medicine is:
Anatomy: ANAT20006 Principles of Human Structure
Biochemistry: BCMB20002 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Physiology: PHYS20008 Human Physiology
which require these Pre-reqs of:
BIOL10004 Biology of Cells and Organisms (Physiology and Anatomy)
BIOL10005 Genetics & The Evolution of Life (Physiology and Anatomy)
CHEM10002 Chemistry 2 (Biochemistry)
- Chemistry 2 Prereq: CHEM10003 Chemistry 1
- Chemistry 1: Prereq: CHEM10007 Fundamentals of Chemistry
So my question here is,
Do the subjects go for a whole year?, or just one semester?,
Because If i were to take Fundamentals of Chemistry and successfully finish it in my first year and semester (assuming that subjects go for one semester)
I will then be required to complete Chemistry 1 for the second semester.
Which implies that I cannot complete Chemistry 2 in my first year?
So how do the system work?
I believe that if aforementioned scenario is true, then it will lock my opportunity to get into Biochemistry due to not meeting the pre requisite of Chemistry 2 in the first year. Hence, lock me out of my hope of Graduate Medicine.
Hope I can get some clarification/confirmations on this..
Please mention if the wording makes it confusing to understand my request.
