[50 English – 99.55 – English Tutoring]

G’day everyone, my name is Vin Wijesinghe and I graduated from Haileybury College in 2017, with an ATAR of 99.55 and a study score of 50 in English. So basically, I will be offering English tutoring in 2019. It’s my second year of teaching, so here is a bit about my tutoring style.

As my cohort was the first year of comparative writing and argument analysis, I have an extremely strong grasp of the current study design. My teaching style is based on what the assessors deem to be a perfect essay. Rather than aimlessly analysing the texts, I will teach you relevant content, structures, vocabulary and style that can be directly applied to your writing. This ensures an efficient and effective process that caters for the strict requirements of VCAA. In turn, we will focus on each respective SAC and ultimately switch to the exam grind. Beyond weekly lessons and an array of resources, I aim to continuously communicate with my students so that they can take advantage of unlimited consultation and essay feedback throughout the week. All that I ask is that you are willing to grind. This system has allowed me to help numerous students achieve the English study score they desire.

The texts that I specialise in are as follows:
Text Response: John Donne Selected Poems & Rear Window.
Comparative: Black Diggers & The Longest Memory.

I am also happy to teach students from Year 10 & 11.

Generally teach in the south-eastern suburbs: Glen Waverley, Scoresby, Clayton, Wheelers Hill, Springvale etc. However, happy to discuss travel or meeting at a central location if required.

Cheers everyone.
