Hey y'all!
So I thought it was about time that I started a journal instead of stalking everyone else's. :)

So far this year has been a roller coaster. (Yay for the sad cliche). I really never anticipated getting into so much crap, both at home and at school. Oh well.
Although, it has also been really rewarding. I've made many friends outside of school who I see keeping in the long run. As cheesy as it sounds and as it is, I've definitely learnt a lot.

Anyways, apart from all that, let's get into the schoolstuffff: So this year I'm doing 4 subjects, English, Chemistry, Methods and Specialist.

Chemistry: I've been doing quite alright in this subject, however I just can't bring myself to complete many practice exams, think I've done 1. I know it's quite late, but I still have 2 more sacs to complete for it! But I really do enjoy the theory and concepts :)

Methods: Another subject I haven't been doing too badly in, sort of on par with Chem. I find it as a very chill subject and am hoping to attain rank 1 this year! I have done maybe 5/6 prac exams for meth hehe. (+ just finished the course todayyyy, yeye!)

Spec: I really enjoy this subject! I find that it is a subject where I can be challenged and the work never gets boring. We're still on stats, but it shouldn't be too long before we finish the course.

English: ughhhhhhhhhhhhh. I really cbs eng, all day, everyday. To be honest I'm not completely sure why. I haven't been doing incredibly shitty in my sacs. My rank isn't bad, but then again my cohort is rather weak. It is also basically the subject that will determine my ATAR. (Very dramatic, I know). All my other subjects will end up scaling up, and eng will be the outlier in my top 4. At the beginning of the year I told myself I'd do an essay a week, but that isn't happening. I think I've done a total of 10 essays this year.

So this leads on to what I want to do next year. I'm not really sure, but *think* I want to go into the health sciences. I have an alright umat score, but am doubting whether I'd get an interview at monash. Oh well, we'll have to see!

Yeah, so I've got to get my back into it. I've been slow cruising all year. Is it time to knuckle down? Probably. Will I do it? Hopefully. 🤞(I should really stop wallowing in self pity)

Anyways, if you're still here, thanks for reading :)
and go eat some nice food. You deserve it. Xx

Creative title, I'm assuming your Italian.
Also welcome to ATARNotes, I hope you enjoy your stay. :D

Ahh, the "weak" cohort can really bring your scores down and there is nothing you can do it about it. All I can say is do the best you can and don't get demoralised by it. Focus on what you can control and not what you can't.

Also why do you want to do Health sciences? Did you do Biology or Health as a 3/4 last year?
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Hence why i'm in all these different threads and boards.

Hey, thanks man! Nah, I'm not actually italian haha. And yes, I did do bio last year and lovedddd it. I really enjoy my sciences and want to pursue a career where I'll be constantly learning and challenged. I don't see myself working in a lab/office or anything, I need something a little more hands on and applicable to the real worlddd. What better way than to physically help others?
I also really enjoy problem solving/ thinking in new challenging ways.
Then again, I know that pursuing med isn't an easy path. But there's no reason I can't give it a try and maybe my all. :)
Thanks for the advice, we'll see how we go.
