Internal and External Transfers - Monash University

A lot of you have questions about transfers right now, so here's as good a starting point as any for those with questions about Monash:
http://www.adm.monash.edu/admissions/undergrad/application/internal-course-transfer.html

Further, you can read the minimum averages required for transfer by checking the entry requirements for non-school-leavers under the course finder entry for each course. Start here by finding the course you're seeking information about. Once you're on the course's page, click the "entry requirements and applications" link in the light blue box on the right hand side. Remember, information on transfers will most likely be under the "Minimum entrance requirements for non-school-leavers" subheading.

Direct links to popular course's transfer requirements:

What is the process? What do the selection officers look at?

sweet, so with my atar I'm pretty much guaranteed in because cut off for engineering was 90.05? I just need to apply when the time comes.

yup but dont take my word as the law eh :D

What I can say is, when I applied for my course mid-year at Monash, they didn't so much as ask for any of my uni results for the first semester. So yeah.

Don't they also look at your semester 1 and 2 results? Because if they just looked at the ATAR then a lot of people still wouldn't get in..

Very useful, allows for transfers even if you don't acquire the prerequisite atar in a specific course.
Does this apply for Caulfield to Clayton transfers for future students?
20-12/13 aims: Philosophy [45+], Physics[40+], Methods[40+], English Language [45+], Legal Studies[3.5+ Increment], Justice [4.0+ Increment]

Aim: Superhero/Villain

no i think for future students (im assuming year 12s), then they only look at your atar. but you might still get in if they decide to do second round offers.

Hey so if I'm wanting to transfer for semester 1 2014, would they look at my semester 1 2013 grades because that was when the form was due, or the semester 2 2013 grades? Or both? And also, what other factors do they consider before offering a place?

Thanks

I'm also looking at transferring to Monash. They try and take a years worth of grades, so because you're looking at 2014 S1 Entry, they'll look at S1 + S2 of 2013.
Other requirements that they take are specified in the course search. Under 'Selection Mode'
Quote from: Monash Uni - Law External Transfer
Selection Mode: CY12: ATAR and middle-band.
NY12: Educational History including GPA, VTAC Personal Statement (All).
SEAS is considered.

Extra requirements: VTAC Personal Statement ( NY12-All )
As you're no longer a year 12 student you are considered non-year 12 (NY12).

'14 - Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) / Bachelor of Computer Science | Monash University

Oh wow, I didn't know that, thanks.
So let's say you had a good semester and an average semester, what do you think they'd do?

No problem! Hope you get into your course :)
I'm fairly sure they average them out and see if you meet a average requirement of like 65% or something. There is some lee-way though, because we're considering NY12 we can submit an Educational History thing, which has one section where you can explain your marks (either good or bad).

I dont understand. For some/all courses do applications go through VTAC? I thought mostly it was internal and you just fill this in
