Read a whole book today, once again thanks to a long work commute. It's a collection of stories written by young adults about their life/school experiences and is called My First Lesson. It was put together by Alice Pung and was super insightful. There was one gorgeous story that I realised I was literally holding my breath through about the "princess" and the "dragon".

Me being the YA buff I am, currently reading Maria V. Snyder's Navigating the Stars :)

After I finish, I'm going to read Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte, prior to going to YA fest in August and meeting her for the second time! (The first time, I attended a book party that she was at, and she did a reading. I was HOOKED)

Just read A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein. It's a poetry book (targetted at kids) but very funny. A quick read but highly entertaining and the kind of book that makes you want to share it with others.

what's it about?
It's basically a cheesy romance-type book, but with plenty of Jane Austen book references haha.

A little more detail
It's about a lady who works at a bookstore and tries to find her true love (who's a classics guy) by releasing some of her fave classics on trains with her details inscribed somewhere.

The wonderful ladies who wrote it are Melbourne-based and co-created the Books on the Rail initiative, which is what inspired them to write in the first place!

Decided to do a vlog for my book blog this morning, but it contains what I'm going to attempt to read in the next week (or so) (plus some other bookish things), so I'll leave this here for me to be known as a dork for ^-^

Just finished Tomorrow, When The War Began and really enjoyed it. I'm hoping the hard-copy of the second book hasn't been borrowed out already (moving the mouse-pad whenever the screen dims is becoming tiring ::)).

Currently in the middle of Begin End Begin: A #LoveOzYA Anthology, which is a short story collection written by 10 Australian Young Adult authors (Amie Kaufman, Ellie Marney, and Alice Pung are three of the authors) :)

In August, I'm participating in a Classicsathon (run by booktuber Lucy Powrie), and I'm going to try and finish a total of three books- To Kill a Mockingbird, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and A Doll's House and Other Plays. ^-^
