Ive been researching since like.. yr9 till now (yes. im still finding one). Ive been to these uni open days (melb, monash etc) but idk man. None of them interest me (commerce does interest me a bit but its so competitive so i dont wanna do it).... so ive basically been thinking about my course for A DAM LONG TIME but still havent decided
Hey, and that’s absolutely OK. To be honest, I didn’t decide specifically on anything until mid-Year 12 and even then, my preferences were all over the place (like I legit had Architecture, Science, Arts, Commerce, Environments and even got an interview for said Architecture course). With time, I refined that order and eventually got my top preference anyway, which is what led me to where I am now. You don’t have to be specific and a lot of generalist degrees e.g. Commerce these days don’t require you to figure out exactly what you want to specialise in (major in) until your second year. I usually recommend generalist degrees to undecided students so that have some extra time to spare before they specialise.

Alternatively, if you’re undecided about two areas, double degrees might be a better idea for you or you might choose to go do a postgrad degree after you complete your undergrad.
What I regret more was not finding out about courses like Radiography and Science (Research Advanced) because those would have given me a little push of motivation to do better back then.

My greatest regret is non-academic: I wish I'd got a classic fast food or supermarket job.  It's all worked out just fine, as I've had multiple jobs since, but I think I would've grown faster as a person in the ways that actually matter (basic soft skills, communication skills, etc), which I was really lacking in at the time.  And still have definite room to grow.

Academically, doing English Language rather than mainstream English, and doing a 3/4 (6th subject) in year 11, would have been the biggest contributors.  Not a huge deal though; my score doesn't matter, and it was probably genuinely good for me to do a subject that caused me to panic, as I was used to cruising easily through school.

yeah man.. even tho i have a part time job rn but I think if my school did work experience I could've learnt new skills and communication skills earlier. Plus have an insight of how an actual workplace functions.
