Kekeke.

Also, I'm not sure how to put limits in my CAS [TI-89 Titanium] (e.g. if I wanted it to be from x->a and solve...)

Thanks in advance

Dunno how CAS functions, but try graphing the function, f(x), and observe what happens as x -> a

I did CAS 1/2 last year. I <3 solve!!!

Anyway, to do limits:

Press F3. Choose Option 3, the limit.

Then, input your function, followed by the parameter and what it's approaching.

So, if I wanted the derivative of something, I could say:

limit(6x+3h+2,h,0)

This means that I want to find the limit of 6x+3h+2 as h approaches 0. (6x+2).

yes, i have a copy of those solutions. how do you want me to send it to you? with your limits question, if you mean that you want to solve f(x) for a certain domain, the TI89 way is to type, e.g. Solve(f(x)=0 |x>a and x<b). you can't put a<x<b as your domain after the 'given' sign, you have to do each separately. if you meant that you want to find the limit of an equation as x->a, go to F3:Calc (the calculus menu in your home screen), choose 3:limit( and put in e.g. limit(8x+1,x,5) and you'll get the limit as x->5. hope that helps, i don't know what CAS you're using tho

Useful stuff.

Cheers, that worked.

More useful stuff.

Do you have msn? That usually seems to work :)

Thanks for the domain stuff, I do use T1-89 so thanks.

It's good for you!

The cohort of CAS is so small, some schools don't want to switch.

Only a small percentage get 40+'s - so small is the CAS group, in my school we'd be competing among each other for 40's, which is unfair.

So, we switched back to the normal methods course, because we'd be up against much more students, and possibility for 40's rises significantly.

yes, the CAS cohort was only like 539 last year, and i heard it's under 700 this year...it goes up every year, but it'll take a while. at my school, we weren't exactly given a choice, and as year 10s going into methods we had no idea there was any difference. i like CAS, but going back if i'd known i would have insisted on doing normal methods in the interest of SS maximisation

Seriously, I love my CAS ti-92+. I can't use any other calculator, they all feel weak.

Why hello CGS congregation ;o

TI-89 is lovely but they were outdated when we bought them, and starting from next year the year 9 kids etc are going to be using some casio thing, with 300 in its name I think. Apparently heaps better.
I love mine still but =D

Good luck tomorrow btw :)
