According to this, unadjusted ATAR (no SEAS and/or Access Melbourne) was 78.55. Clearly-ins have been replaced with selection ranks, as lots of people got confused, thinking it was the lowest ATAR possible (it's not).

If thats the case, that is an insane drop

Probably had a lot of SEAS and/or Access Melbourne behind them, because the selection rank (with adjustments i.e. SEAS and/or Access Melbourne) was still 93.00.

Adjusted = ATAR adjusted due to things that impacted an individual’s study such as rurality or financial hardship.
Unadjusted = raw ATAR

If you have no special consideration you should be looking at unadjusted ATAR.

Nah you should still be looking at the adjusted ATAR. Your adjusted ATAR is your selection rank - if you don't have SEAS/bonus points then your ATAR=Selection rank. Regardless, it's your selection rank that decides whether you'll get into a course. The lowest unadjusted ATAR is often much lower than the selection rank that you'll need to get in, because the person with that ATAR probably had a lot of SEAS.

Oh, I thought they were referring to uni cut offs and trying to gauge whether they had a chance. I didn’t know we could see our adjusted ATAR.

You can't see your adjusted ATAR but the uni cut offs are based off adjusted ATAR (ATAR and SEAS/bonus points), so if you have no seas or bonus points then the lowest adjusted atar will be a better indication of whether you'll get into a course.
e.g. the lowest unadjusted ATAR might be 75 and the lowest adjusted ATAR might be 85. If you have no bonus points/SEAS and get a 76 ATAR, you're probably not going to get in because it's 9 points below the lowest selection rank (adjusted ATAR), but if you have SEAS/bonus points then you could get in with that (assuming you had a big enough adjustment).
