Hi,

I really want to use these quotes in my AOS essay but i need some help identifying language techniques.

“the communism gnawing at his entrails was no more than a natural longing for something better…whose translation, “bread for the poor”…filled him with hope”
 also,

“this is the Cuzco inviting you to become a warrior and to defend, club in hand, the freedom and life of the Inca.”

Thank you in advance

Hey there! The "bread" is a metonym. They'll probably get more than bread, they'll get sustenance. So I suggest here it's a metonym.  :)

Hey Victorious,
Also, the reference to 'communism gnawing' is an example of personification.
