hi everyone!
i'm allie and i'll be graduating in 2019, but since i'm in the midst of studying for two 3/4 exams, i thought i might as well make a journal to track my day and overall journey in my VCE studies!
a bit of background info:
- currently studying biology and japanese as a 3/4 (yes i am a filthy weeaboo)
- will be studying latin, english, methods and chemistry next year
- love anime (esp. jjba fk yeahhh), vidya games, translating manga, 19-20th century history across europe and imperial japan as well as ancient rome!
- aiming to enter biomed/med and one day become a rheumatologist!
see you around!
2018: Biology, Japanese
2019: Latin, English, Methods, Chemistry

thank you!!! my favourite subject is a dead tie between biology and japanese, they're both so much fun to study! it's pretty rare you can say that about any subject so i'm really grateful the content is so enjoyable!

Ooooh! Latin!

How did you come to pick that?
it's probably one of the languages with the most depth to it - and makes learning other romance languages way easier in the future!
not only that, i love both the history and the literature from that time period (especially the poetry)! the cadence is really interesting in latin poetry!

hmmm, well it's not really a history fact but i love the fact that when charles darwin was publishing 'on the origin of species' he called lamarck's theory of evolution 'veritable rubbish'. what a legend

Awesome! And I completely agree about the cadence. :D
I have tried learning some in my spare time (i.e My personal text and my signature.. ;) ), but unfortunately my school had literally no languages offered... :(

Oh yeah, and a touch of forum etiquette..

14 DAYS BEFORE BIO EXAM:
- spent lunchtime reviewing pcr processes (never realised how productive i can be at lunch when i'm studying by myself hmmm)
- planning to finish revising unit 4 aos 2 tonight, and then i can start practice exams!
- bought supplies for studying (folders, highlighters, pens, etc) ->this always makes me feel more productive and motivated ahaha retail therapy am i right
- made a schedule to complete all 17 practice exams before exam day! (it sounds a lot worse than it is dw)
so i've decided i'm going to do one practice exam a day (on schooldays) and two-three each day on the weekend, hopefully its productive!
time to hit that bio grind boyyyyys

Just be careful you don’t tire yourself out too much - take a break if you need it. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get through all of them :)

13 DAYS BEFORE BIO EXAM:
- did my first practice exam! (yikes it was about time)
- went through and corrected everything, found my problem areas (lost most of my marks on cladograms like whaaaaat) and put everything on an excel sheet. if you want the template for the excel sheet for logging your practice exams its here: link redacted
- after revising my problem areas i went back and re-did those questions
- just before i clocked off i did the multiple choice section for my second exam under test conditions, but will continue short answer in the morning

asides from studying, i also picked up some university booklets from the careers office today and am currently investigating what to do after biomed or science! i'm thinking about doing commerce or taking the generic doctor route... either way, i've booked my first careers appointment next week and i'm super excited!

cheers to another productive day!
