***CURRENTLY ACCEPTING STUDENTS FOR 2021***

Hi everyone!

My name is Warren and I graduated in 2016 as co-Dux of Scotch College with a perfect ATAR of 99.95 and the highest aggregate in the state (first place in VIC). I achieved perfect study scores of raw 50 in five of my subjects (Chinese SL, Maths Methods, Literature, Specialist Maths, English) as well as 47 in Physics and 44 in Chemistry, alongside Premier's Awards for Specialist Maths and Chinese, and a Premier’s Top All-Round VCE High Achiever’s Award. I have also achieved multiple Outstanding Awards in the University of Melbourne Mathematics Competition and multiple Prizes in the Australian Mathematics Competition. I completed Bachelor of Biomedicine as a Chancellor’s Scholar at the University of Melbourne with a H1 WAM, and am currently studying Doctor of Medicine at Unimelb.

I am offering individual and group tuition for Maths Methods and Specialist Maths, as well as younger year levels for maths.

I have tutored over 50 students since the end of 2016 in maths of various year levels, ranging from a primary school level to Year 7 competition maths, all the way up to VCE Methods and Spesh. I have also taught VCE English and Literature. Not to mention that despite studying a biomedical course in my undergraduate, I still managed to incorporate some mathematical subjects as selective options into my degree, scoring 97 in Vector Calculus (MAST20009), 97 in Engineering Mathematics (MAST20029), and 94 in Calculus 2 (MAST10006). As such, I possess an enriched understanding of maths beyond just the high school level.

I strongly believe that the key to doing well in maths subjects is not simply the memorization of formulae. Rather, it is so much more important to familiarize oneself with how such formulae are derived in the first place, and how they are relevant in solving different sorts of questions. As such, my lessons will be geared more towards the understanding of fundamental concepts, and applying them to problems.

With regards to VCE specifically, I have encountered this arduous academic journey and I am very passionate about sharing my experiences and helping you achieve your desired scores. Throughout my VCE studies, I have gathered many tips and tricks and knowledge pertaining to the ins and outs of the ATAR system, and the mechanisms behind how your final scores are determined, all of which will be integrated into my lessons. For example, I lay a heavy focus on exam strategies, including a close attention to detail that most students often omit, as well as the ability to complete assessments with maximal accuracy and speed. I will also be guiding you on how to most effectively distribute your time and effort to maximize your study scores and your ATAR, although this may sometimes require an astute prioritization of subjects. Many students live busy lives during high school, juggling their academics with a variety of extra-curriculars, hence an efficient allocation of time is pivotal in order to yield optimum results.

In addition, I have a wealth of resources at my disposal, including past SACs, practice exams and sample essays which I am more than happy to share with my students. I also possess a valid Working with Children Check.

I also strongly encourage students to contact me outside of lessons if they have any questions regarding their studies as this is highly beneficial towards consolidating their learning.

My rate is $60/hr for 1-on-1, $40/hr for groups of 2 and $35/hr for groups of 3. For group tuition, I strongly prefer if you form your own groups beforehand with your friends for a more collaborative and engaging group environment.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have been conducting all lessons online via Zoom since March, which has worked brilliantly for all my students thus far. As such, I plan on continuing this into the foreseeable future, however I am happy to deliver in-person tuition at Glen Waverley Library or State Library once restrictions have fully eased, if that is what you prefer.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested, or have any inquiries! I look forward to hearing from you.
