Hey guys, I wonder which one you guys think might be the best selective school in Victoria. This is just for personal info, not to offend or relate to anything further than this.
The list includes:
Melbourne High
Macrob Girls' High
Nossal High
Suzanne Cory High
John Monash Science School (a science specialist selective one)
Elizabeth Blackburn Sciences (same as John Monash)

How would you rank them?

Hey andiez,
There's a whole section of the forum dedicated to selective entry schools so you might find more information here. I myself don't know much about selective entry schools so sorry I can't be more helpful. Have you been on any tours?  ;D

Hey andiez,
My brothers  currently are in a selective school.
One of them is in Melbourne High and the other one is in Nossal.
My cousin sister is in Mac.Rob and I am preparing for an entry at John Monash Science School.

I have talked a lot about this to my brothers and we all had to agree that
Melbourne High School and John Monash Science School are the best.

1. Melbourne High is without a doubt the best selective school in Vic.With the most enrolment and the most difficult enrolment process.

2. John Monash Science School is a specialist-selective School which focuses on Science,Math and Tech. It is Victoria’s first school of its kind and has a partnership with Monash Uni.

3. Nossal High School, as this school has the 2nd largest enrolment and the 2nd most difficult enrolment process.

4. Mac.Rob

5.Suzanne Cory High School, this School has the easiest selection process if compared to the other selective schools.

6. Elizabeth Blackburn School of Sciences. This school specialises in Science as well.

 :)
I hope you like this list. It’s just my opinion. Other people might agree or disagree with my list.

If you have any queries, then feel free to PM me,
If I make it to JMSS.

I recently got accepted at JMSS 😎😎😎

Hey,
I personally don't exactly disagree but don't exactly agree either, which is common in all as we all have different views. In saying this, I'd like to present my views on which selective school is the best.

1. Nossal High School
This school, being only 10 years old has climbed up the ranking ladders very quickly, and is co-ed (boys and girls) which appeals to many people as opposed to single gender schools. Moreover Nossal High School accepts the least students each year (200) whilst Melbourne high takes 300 and similar with macrob. So I think Nossals selection process is harder,  as they have fewer places, competition is with both genders and not just one.

2. John Monash Science School
Being s specialist school, jmss offers many science based electives that students can engage in. Moreover it is located in Monash uni and students have access to their facilities. Also accepting 200 students, and competing with both genders, its competitive.

3. Mac.Robertson Girls High School
Being a girls school, macrob has a high reputation like nossal and jmss, and performs well each year. They accept around 300 students, and the school was established in the early 1900s (i think)

4. Melbourne High school
A boys only school,  Mhs offers many subjects that link to vce subjects and uni courses (e.g
Biomedical science)  from year 10, and also perform well in vce each year. They accept 300 students each year, and the competition is with boys only, meaning there is a higher chance as opposed to schools like nossal, which has lower spots and both genders.

5. Suzanne cory
Located in Werribee, this school caters mainly for people living in that area,  thoughmany people travel long distances to get there. Schs also has 200 spots and does well in vce.

6. Elizabeth Blackburn Science School
Another specialist school in Science,  though it isn't as known as the other schools,  further to why I personally place it here. But its a great school for Science orientated students.

It really depends, but if you're going off VCE results they are ranked:

1. MGHS (Mac robertson girls high school)
2. MHS (Melbourne High School)
3. NHS (Nossal High School)
4. EBSS (Elizabeth Blackburn School of Sciences)
5. SCHS (Suzanne Cory High School)
6. JMSS (John Monash School of Sciences)

^ With this being said all place within the top 60-70. With all having an average atar of 90+. I can't really rank them experience wise as I haven't attended all of them.
