It's growing steadily each year but from talking with some staff I gathered it's roughly 1000+ try out, and the cohort size, 220 (give or take) get in.

Ahha, that's for year 9 entry.

For entry into year 10, I assume there would be roughly 300 who try out, and around 25-40 students who would be accepted if it is anything like Melbourne High.

Awesome work on the results guys (very well deserved)! You'll definitely enjoy the next three years at JMSS!

However, for those who are planning on Methods 1&2 next year, the testing still goes on (but a lot more bearable this time around )

For those who didn't get a place at JMSS, don't worry too much about it, they'll be plenty of opportunity next year to reapply but for now I reckon take time off and focus finishing off Year 10 as strong as possible.

When do the second round offers come out? How many people get them. I haven't gotten an email yet so that means I didn't get a first round offer right? Does JMSS send unsuccessful applicants an email to confirm?

Second Round offers should come about before 18 September and the number is dependent on how many people reject their JMSS offer. If I recall, JMSS will tell you if you get put on the waiting list for JMSS in an email but regardless, you'll receive an email from JMSS in due time so best to wait for it (check spam if you haven't yet).

hey, I recently got into JMSS but I don't know if i should go.
I'm in the Box Hill High seal program, which lets me work ahead and I am currently doing year 10 English, Maths and Science.
I was all set to complete 3 1/2 subjects in Year 10 itself and complete 2 3/4 subjects in year 11.
I was also planning to take VCE German, but unfortunately, they don't offer German at JMSS.
However, JMSS would be a great opportunity and is indeed a great school.
I have no idea of what school to choose and my parents have decided to let me choose.
 HELP!!
