if i have 60% average currently what does my average need to be to bar able to get a 45?? what would i need to get on the exam? is it even possible?! pls halp

No way of exactly knowing what your average should be. Depending on your SAC difficulty your 60% might be on track for a 45 or could be well below. The only real certainty imo is your exam score needs to be within the realms of a 45. At the top end it becomes harder to rely on sac scores and cohort strength and you need to pull your own performances.

If I am ranked last in my cohort (or very low), and people do well in my class (30+) can I still get a 30+ as well if I do good in the exam
If everyone in your cohort scores 30+ and you are ranked last in your cohort you will need an average exam score to score about a 30 so it would be very possible.

Hey guys I need some help because I am really eager to get a view of my study score. So far my cohort is ranked average, last year we had around a couple of people score 40+ in economics. So I was wondering what sac marks and grades so I need to get a final study score of over 40, I don't mind raw or scaled as long as the final score is 40 or above. Currently I am not too sure of my ranking because the teacher never says it. So what marks will I need for my dream study score?

My school has had 3 SACs in unit 3 Chemistry and we have 1 left.

My scores have been
74% (average 63%)
72%
72% (average 60)

The cohort has 180 people and is quite strong up the top.

I really wanted to get a 40+ study score but I’m not sure if that’s still realistic. I’m missing my goal of 80% by two marks each time and it’s the smallest silly mistakes it’s not like I don’t know the content. I messed up the latest sac because it was online but I think we have a validation task when we go back? I’m not sure.

Is a 40+ study score out of reach??

Especially now that my bad SACs  are weighted more due to the increased weighting on unit 3 :((

Hi I'm Emma,

I'm in year 11 and I am currently doing both Biology and Food Studies 3 and 4. I have just received my feedback for Food Studies Outcome One, and have overall received a 90.5%. Is this a good result? I really want to get a study score of 40+ for Food Studies as I really enjoy it and believe its possible. Has this 90.5% set me back at all in achieving this goal or is it good?

With my Biology I am also quite nervous as last year I was getting perfect or almost perfect for my Biology SACs, not to sound snotty, but no they have dropped to about 78% for an average in each SAC. I haven't received my marks for Outcome One yet I'm just nervous and I really want to get something about 30 for Biology. Is this still possible?

Thanks so much, hope this post also helps others :)

This is a big problem for me since I did not do that great in unit 3.

Yes, a 40+ study score is still attainable - I don't see why not, heck, a 45+ study score could still be attainable. At the end of the day, there is no way to measure study scores based upon SAC scores without real quantitative data from your school regarding cohort strength and past performance. Also, the majority of the marks are still up for grab in the exam. I know that poor SAC performance can be disheartening (been there did that), but you should simply focus on the goal ahead and take action instead of dwelling on the past.

In an at home sac everyone body cheated but I didn’t so ended up getting 70% while a lot of people got 100%. It’s as if my school doesn’t care so isn’t holding a validation task :(

Now that unit 3 is worth more than unit 4 I don’t think I can get the 40-45 study score I wanted. I know for a fact my schools SACs will either stay the same or scale down as there’s 200 of us (a few strong ones) and many  people who don’t care about school.

Unit 3 SACs
Creative:83%
Text Response: 70% (online)
Language Analysis: (aiming for 85%)

Is a 40-45 still possible? I know I’m capable of it but the last sac mark has deterred me.

It is still very possible to score in the 40's as long as you ace the exam. If the people who cheated scored 100% on the sacs, but did bad on the exam then their sacs would get scaled down. Vaca will assume the teacher is a lenient marker because people scored really high on sacs, but did ass on the exam. My advice is to do your best from here onwards :)

But then my SACs will also scale down?

If a lot of people in your year level perform badly then unfortunately yes. The only way you can be safe is it you are ranked 1 in your cohort.

Hey I'm ThunderDragon

I just got back my first Chem Sac on U3 AOS 1 and I got 32.5/50 (65%). The average was roughly 40/50 (80%). My cohort is pretty strong however I'm not sure whether I can get a 40+ score still and if so, what type of marks do I need for the remaining 4 Sacs?

I know I should probably focus on studying and improving instead of focusing on the scores but I'm pretty nervous since I kinda need a 99+ unless my UCAT is amazing.

Only your ranking matters, in the end sacs get moderated so it is very difficult to say for certain. But if your cohort is strong, your sacs get moderated up. The best thing is to ace the remaining sac, try to score above class average and do well on the exam. A study score of 40+ is doable tho.

What rank should you be in order to get a 45+ in English in an average cohort? Also the same question for a 40+. What sort of exam mark should you be getting for these respective scores with a ranking of 5 out of a cohort of 25? Kindly appreciated
