Hey, as weird as it sounds I've already got one result - Intercultural Communication. But it's on the actual page itself under 'My Grades' not on the results statement so it might not be as official yet if we consider the possibilities of scaling etc.

Edit: What has just happened... They moved my assignment marks down but the exam mark up. I am confused as to why this was. Are they tampering with the marks? The exam was just multiple choice - maybe they made a mistake initially marking it or maybe it was scaled?

Both assignment marks went down? I had one that suddenly went up. Weird - I'm keeping an eye on it.

Where are the exam marks shown on "My Grades"?? Is it next to the "Total"? :-\
Don't know if my exam mark went down by anything but assignment marks have stayed the same...for now :P

And does scaling affect marks a lot? Or just increase it by like 1-2 marks??

Yeah, both...

With the second one, it went down 1.5 marks, that's a lot of marks to suddenly drop. I believe that it was because Hyejeong thought it was worth 1.5 marks more than the final marker.

As I have mentioned though, my exam mark went up, but it wasn't enough to compensate. At least the letter grade hasn't changed.

The subject was a good one though, I'm just happy to have done it. I felt the lecturers and tutors were pretty reasonable.

Didn't feel it was necessary to make a new thread but does anyone here know much about food science, in particular FOOD20003 Food Chemistry, Biology and Nutrition or FOOD20006 Food Microbiology and Safety? I haven't heard much about them and was wondering if they're enjoyable/useful.

From handbook:
Quote
Students are expected to be familiar with word processing, data management and graphical software packages and to be competent in electronic search techniques.

This subject requires attendance at lectures and active participation in practicals and tutorials.

Can anyone comment on the data management/graphical software component? I haven't had a great deal of experience with that. Also wondering about the attendance as it doesn't say anything about attendance in the assessment section yet that comment was under core participation requirements.

Maybe just give it some time for them to get it all sorted. If not then probably email them.

By the way, for those who are interested in genetics but are not doing Science/Biomedicine etc. then a new subject 'Genetics in the Media' may interest you. It equips you with the knowledge to be able to develop to grasp on the concepts which are especially discussed... well... in the media! It's a first year breadth subject which as I have already mentioned is a new addition to The University of Melbourne. Here's some more information: https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/GENE10001?output=PDF

Can be taken as a breadth in the following courses:
# Bachelor of Arts (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/B-ARTS)
# Bachelor of Commerce (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/B-COM)
# Bachelor of Environments (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/B-ENVS)
# Bachelor of Music (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/B-MUS)

That subject would have been perfect!  Not fair!
I need to find a semester 1 breadth or a summer breadth.

But anyway, hi everyone!!!
Hope everyones semester 2 went well. :)

Do genetics, health, society. If you've already done it, do Global Health/Sustainability.
Both pretty good and easy.

Yeah...  When was the exam?  First week?

But it also depends on administration as well.  I know one of my exams has been marked and second marked accordingly but the marks haven't been entered because of admin.
