I'm having trouble using more sophisticated words in my text analysis/response essays, I always resort to using simple ones. I have had a look at the sample essays in the VCE exam reports, where else can I find these good words/phrases/sentences? For example, from the 2020 VCE English exam report. "From the outset, Bandle overlays a logistics argument to candidly illustrate the magnitude of the drone crisis. "

Is there a book which has many good words/phrases/sentences that I can refer to?

Do people have a list that they are willing share with me?

Many thanks.

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for, but here's a list of phrases I use:

It thus can be said that…

It thereby stands to reason…

It can hence be deduced that…

It is thereby true to state that…

As such, it can be inferred that…

=======

Author conveys
Author demonstrates
Author shows
Author presents
Author illustrates
Author elicits
Author underscores that...
Author cements that...
Author illuminates the idea that...

====

The notion…
The idea…
The assumption…
The concept…
The conceptualization...

Hopefully, this helps.

A good place i found was to read published literary analysis, their phrases are often complex and just sound really nice haha. You can find these also specific to your texts, i commonly used google scholar. Good luck!

I found that a thesaurus is great. Just look up some of the simple words you say you resort to and you’ll get a whole list of synonyms! Just make sure they make sense in the context of what you are writing - just because two words are synonyms, it doesn’t mean they’re interchangeable.
