2021 Methods Graded Distributions

Hi all!
Do you think the A+ cutoff will increase from 2019 for methods? And if so, by how much?

Easier exam=cut off increase, harder exam=cut off decrease.

Thank you!

I was wondering if anyone had an estimate of how much the two exams this year would increase/decrease compared to 2019, so I can compare my scores?

Quite hard to say since it depends on how the state goes. But I am sure someone here can give some estimation.

i found it extremely hard unfortunately, Exam one yesterday wasn't too bad, but today I just got confused with the questions. Multiple choice reasonably ok, but I reckon I did quite badly on the rest.  Getting a 30 or low 30's SS shattered now, fingers crossed I can get a 25 to allow me to get into courses I need.  My SAC's weren't the best either, only had 2 (C and C+) - average was B in a strong cohort (private school), the rest of the SAC's were scrapped by our school sadly due to lockdowns and our school wouldn't do them online/remotely either as some schools did, so I didn't get a chance to redeem myself.   This is a long way off where I was academically with Methods and Maths. Hopefully SAC's will go up due to our school geenrally setting hard SAC's, but don;t think my bottom 1/3 ranking (just below average) will get me far.

After being able to take a look at the exam, i'd say it's a bit easier than 2018, so my guesses:

~103/120 (exam 1 /40 + exam 2 /80) needed for a 40 and

~112/120 needed for a 45

So what would I need to get in the two exams to get a 25 or high 20's?

I usually just refer to https://twmpublications.com/statistics to get a rough idea, it seems that generally around a 40-50% should put you comfortably above 25 (raw)

What do you think the lowest score for a raw 50 will be this year?

Probably 117 would be absolute lowest, E2 wasn't that challenging (relatively)

Because this exam was easier, does that mean with my scores I'm unlikely to get a raw 25?

According to the graphic, you should be able to get around 28-30 raw

Perhaps. Exam 2 is worth a larger percentage of your grade, so I suppose this may come down to your ranking in combination with the better exam 2 score. Raw 25 will be cutting it close, but I think a scaled 25 is well within reason
