Title: Answering questions
Post by: Shoesta on September 12, 2017, 10:04:19 pm
Is it actually suitable to use a table to compare concepts or advantages/disadvantages in a HSC answer? I would really like to, but I feel like you'd lose marks?

You may be surprised, but people have achieved band 6's doing this before.

Whilst personally I feel it's a waste of time, a table has the huge benefit of clarity. It allows you to just weigh things out side by side without having to go through a whole paragraph of information. If you're cautious with it, and of course remember to provide a conclusion anyway, there is nothing wrong with using a table for your extended responses.
