I'm not sure, but I reckon I've got more chance of learning how to fly than Australia making it through the group stages.  :P

We are fucked...so...so fucked. We were going to be fucked either way though.

Did anyone hear Les Murray (the commentator) say "Oh God..." as Netherlands was read out for our group?

Is their any video of that ? I'd really like to see it  ;D

Even playing in the world cup consecutively is a success I guess..hopefully Australia makes into last 16 at least although it seems very unlikely..and I have particular hate against Netherlands(not racism) Turkey would probably be in the groups if Netherlands hadnt beaten us in the last match of the qualification stage..Well, I guess I have to wait for 4 more years, 12+4 years in total..

Excellent draw for the Azzurri. I'm confident Italy will top the group but even if we finish second, we will face a team from group C.

Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon
Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia
Group C: Colombia, Greece, Cote d'Ivoire, Japan
Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy
Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras
Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Nigeria
Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA
Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea

Toughest groups to predict: B, C, G. Chile are extremely underrated and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make it to the knockout rounds. Arturo Vidal will have a monster tournament.

All three teams in C are decent top to bottom. Greece are a stubborn defensive unit that no one wants to face, and Japan have lots of key players playing in big clubs in Europe. Colombia could easily fold like they did in '94 although they have been impressive lately.

There will be no easy games in group B. Second place will most likely face Brazil in the round of 16.

As of today on bet365, the odds for qualification through to the knockout phase from Group B:

Spain - 1.22
Holland - 1.53
Chile - 2.00
Australia - 8.00

which puts us as the rankest outsiders except for Costa Rica (13.00) and Honduras (8.50)

so in the bookmakers' opinion, it's not looking great for the Socceroos

I've got a feeling this will be the year England make it out of the group stage xD
Hopefully Gli Azzuri have a good run. Forza Italia!
I'll be watching all the Germany games too gosh I love the German National Team. Mario Gotze is a gun.
Australia, welp, gg.

Apparently we have it the hardest out of anyone else in any group - http://www.theguardian.com/football/interactive/2013/dec/18/world-cup-2014-draw-strength-of-schedule .

I knew we had it bad but this really puts it into perspective...

I'd be interested to see the same thing done by Elo ratings, rather than shitty FIFA rankings.
