Can't access it as I'm not a student, but how considerable is the change to Moodle?

Internally, the system is the same, but externally it's like a whole different feel. I'll put a picture up here to show you what it looks like now, but it's definitely very different compared to the old system when you first look at it.

EDIT: Old is here and new is here

Now if only they updated the horrid table-layout WES style, that'd definitely assist with bringing the feel of a world class university into the 21st century. :)

First look isn't great tbh but will probably just have to get used to it  :-\

RIP if we can't remove units from the front page - previously I just hid everything except the actual units I was studying that semester.

@Sine give this a shot on Chrome if you want a better Moodle experience, a friend of mine designed the extension and it's absolutely gold

will do - just watched through the video and it looks great.

I guess they are trying to make moodle look a bit more modern but it is doing way too much on a single page so it makes everything look really messy. The minimalist display of the old moodle was definitely a bonus.

LOVE being able to select the learning capture option for lectures so that you can schedule clashes w/ your labs & tutes.

Thanks Monash

Definitely agree with this, should make getting a decent timetable significantly less stressful!

The Parkville admin gods have given us the class timetable for all the 2019 sem1 formulation science subjects early (by about 1.5 months) <3
Looks like I'll be facing a mostly 3-4 day week, most of which are labs :)

The shuttle bus seems equally busy atm as it is during semester, which I've found a bit surprising.

There's still summer semester units running now. Also, today is exam viewing day for a lot of people (me included), so people are getting in early for that.

What's exam viewing day?

The BusEco faculty has a standardised exam viewing procedure, where you just fill out a form online and you can have up to 3.5hrs to view your exam if you need it. This semester they gave you a week to fill out the form which was generous, as in the past you've had like 48hrs which was tight to fill everything out. It makes it easier to see if you think that they've marked your exam wrong, or if your mark is lower than expected.

So today and tomorrow are the exam viewing days, where you've got between 3 and 6:30pm in H4 to have a look at your exams if you filled out the form when it was open.

Hey all,

I'm about to pick my hall for the Monash Clayton Urban Community, and not sure of which one to choose (out of Campbell, Turner, Logan and Holman). I know they are all very much the same, but if anyone has some small details or advice on which hall to choose that would be great!

Didn't want to double-post on the new student thread, however aMigo- Monash's rather new orientation event/connect-with-others-from-your-campus/faculty/course social media platform designed to aid first years into the first few weeks of uni life goes live to students on Monday, and from what I've seen with my involvement with it, a lot of work has gone into it. :)
