My sac score average for unit 3&4 is: 92% (Rank 3) in my cohort, , Rank 2's sac average (93%) & Rank 1 is 95% so there is only a tiny gap of 3% between us!

completed 2018-2010 Past exams Marked! AVERAGING 90-95% IN THEM
planning to do 2009-2002 past exams and extract those questions and evidently create my own exam using the similar key words expressed in those old exams onto our current study design.

My School was fortunate enough to have the chief examiner of Rs come in and have a chat about exam structure, where students lose marks etc!, she said in order to score a 50, the maximum marks i can drop is 5 marks and that being only in section B, i have to Ace Section A.

Was just wondering your thoughts on this? and also does my rank affect my chances of getting a 50 despite rank 1 & i only having a 3% gap between us.

The gap between the ranks have no meaning for VCAA.

E.g. If the top three students of a cohort average 100, 99 and 98 - for the purposes of VCAA there is no difference to the sac scores being 95, 65 and 30. Obviously it shows different levels of understanding but since school sacs are standardised by VCAA it doesn't matter. VCAA will spread the actual scaled sac scores based on the exam.

Coming from rank 3 is not ideal since you will need to hope two other people in your cohort get at least high 40s in terms fo the equivalent sac score. But 50 is still possible if you do well enough.

How about if Rank 1 or 2 do worse than me or i get a higher exam score than them does that affect my overall chances at scoring a 50

Well the most important part of scoring 50 will be your own exam score and that is what you really should be thinking about. Rank 1 and 2 could score anywhere between 0 and 100% but if you personally don't have the exam mark for a 50 they won't be able to bring you to that study score.

Also, nearly always less than 5 people get 50's in Religion and Society so if they score better than you it is highly unlikely you will all score 50s.
