Mike Hussey? Does he deserve his spot (after failing again for WA)?

If not, Ferguson or Khawaja?

(btw, gotta admire Chris Gayle's 333 against SL!)

On a side note, I reckon Gayle and the little man (Tendulkar) are freaks! =P Superstars in their own right.

got less runs than Harbajan in the current series  ;D  But still a great year!

+ Tendulkar and Gayle have been standouts for nearly their whole careers, Sehwag gets either a ton or a low score and rarely bats his average (48-ish?), not as consistent

TBH Sehwag is no where close to Tendulkar. Like they are worlds, no GALAXIES apart.

Sehwag plays good either a) against easy times or b) does good once in a millenium.

Sehwag, has been consistent "Studyinghard", and I don't agree with you.
In fact, his ability to consistently strike at a high rate in First Class/ Test matches
is admirable.

 :o

ouch!

I think the best decision has been made though for the Ashes and the sets a good tone for the future

Quote from: ESPNCricinfo

Four men were cut from the inflated 17-man unit chosen in Sydney on Monday. Callum Ferguson and Usman Khawaja failed to impress for Australia A in Hobart this week while Ryan Harris' knee makes him too much of a risk for such an important engagement.

I thought Khawaja and Ferguson were good chances though...  :-[  Hussey lives on (especially after that Shield 100), waiting for someone to drop finally drop North though

Why cant they just pick Hodge over North?? Bizarre really since Hodge has been consistent for so long and is a far better batsman than North. His bowling is on par with North's as well.

I think Hodge was born a generation too early... I feel a lot of sympathy with him

(btw how good was he in the T20 yesterday?!?!)

Hodge retired from test cricket after the selectors ignored him for like two years (despite his double hundred and epic average). Apparently he had a stoush with them and there's been bad blood ever since. I still can't fathom how he is still to play in T20s and One-days. He's WAY better than Clarke.
