I also picked up PE without 1/2 and I can assure that 3/4 is completely different to it. Most of the 1/2 content is unnecessary anyways. However, PE is overall one of the best subjects out there!

Yes, definitely. I didn't do unit 1/2 and I scored a 50. Go for it!!!

Definitely possible, my school doesn't offer 1/2 and does great (usually about a half over 40!)
