So the assessment report is wrong cos' the answer is actually A.

The answer is A. You can't complete a test and daydream at the same time. So it can't be an altered state. If it said Adrienne ignored the test and began to think of those things then daydreaming would probably be right. Adrienne isn't focussing on the test though so it can't be a controlled process or selective attention. So it leaves you with normal waking consciousness. This is right. Listen to the people here Visionz, minilunchbox, spreadbury, glockmeister and tashi + heaps of others  are smart and know what they're talking about. btw minilunchbox "Daydreaming is more related to when attention shifts from external stimuli to internal stimuli " thats a really good explanation :)

Yeah, I didn't doubt you guys, I was just confused.

Anyway I found this in a more recent assessment report the declares daydreaming is an ASC

Students should be aware that Daydreaming is an altered state of consciousness that
occurs regularly throughout our waking periods. The altered brainwaves, altered perceptions of time, altered
emotionality etc. are all evidence of this.

As far as I remember you're in normal waking consciousness when daydreaming.

It shouldn't matter too much as long as you clarify and explain why you think it is NWC or ASC.
